Acer Phone: Liquid Stream is more than Just Another Android Phone with a Funny Name

The Acer Liquid Stream S110 Is a sleek little thing from the bargain PC manufacturer that will most likely supersede the company’s previous entries into the mobile market thanks to its heavy-hitting specs.  First Debuted at IO, the phone may just provide some competition for HTC and Apple in the super-smart phone Armageddon.

Running on a Snapdragon processor and outfitted with the latest version of Android, the phone’s no slouch when it comes to performance.  But the kicker isn’t what apps the device can run or what silly (and most likely useless) functions it has but it’s baddass camera.

While the iPhone 4G is reputed to have 5 megapixel camera attached, this little device seems to have beat it to the punch—at least with the public admission.  That’s right, this underdog came out of nowhere and trumped apple with a 5MP camera that shoots video in 720p.  That’s no mean feat.

While details are still sketchy, it looks like the camera is going to launch in France sometime in October and make the jump across the pond shortly thereafter.  It may not end-up being an iPhone killer (I don’t as if anything will ever be at this point) but it will definitely take another chunk out of Apple’s stranglehold.
