Just when you thought that digital mice were boring and so 1995, ASUS is throwing a wrench in your works with its new WX-DL. The mouse is certainly sleek and resembles a scaled-down flying saucer or perhaps a futuristic donut without the hole but is it worth $80?
One of the coolest features (other than the stylish design) is the fact that there aren’t any buttons on this beast. It’s a touch-responsive peripheral similar to Apple’s new offerings but it comes in metallic silver!
If you need more than color to sway you, the mouse also sports 1200dpi laser which ensure accuracy of movement. After all, isn’t moving a cursor around what a mouse is supposed to do?
The wireless connectivity is also pretty reliable running on 2.4GHz wavelength rather than Bluetooth. There’s also a bunch of touch points imbedded in the top to control media players (play, pause, that sort of thing.)
While it’s not exactly a bargain, it is a whole lot cheaper than some of the other new PC control we’ve seen recently (I’m looking at you Razer!) However, it does lack some (well most, really) of the functionality of those higher-end devices.
If you enjoy style over substance but don’t want to break the bank on a new mouse, snap your new ASUS up before they scurry away.
