Best digital camera for beginners: Nikon introduces the D3000

This camera has the excellent quality which one expects from a Nikon product. It has a Guide Mode that “advises” the users on getting better results according to the light levels and the environment. Also, since this camera is targeted to beginners, it comes with a 11-point autofocus (AF) system that guarantees a fast and precise focus over a wide area of the frame.

The Nikon D3000 measures (approximately) 5.0 x 3.8 x 2.5 in. (126 x 97 x 64 mm) and weighs 1lb.  1.1 oz (485 grams). It was designed to include a 3-inch, 230 k-dot LCD monitor and features a very friendly and simple graphic interface to avoid usability problems when the users are not expert. It also has a 10.2-megapixel CCD sensor, EXPEED image processing system, continuous shooting up to 3 frames-per-second, and software to edit photos stored in the camera. By default, the ISO sensitivity is ISO 100 to 1600, but it can be increased to ISO 3200.

The camera will be available for sale in late August and will come with a kit that includes a Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens. So far, the estimated price is USD$600.
