BlackBerry’s latest handheld, the Torch is now available for presale. Official launch date is August 12 so if you’re in need of a new RIM device, get in line now. The 5 megapixel cam and full QWERTY keyboard are just two of the reasons you’ll be ready to drop your hard earned bucks on this bad boy. Read on for more!
The biggest difference you’ll notice between this and previous handhelds will of course be BlackBerry 6 (running on 512MB of ROM and RAM) but you’ll also get 802.11n Wi-Fi built-in and 4GB of storage on board and an expansion slot capable of holding a 4GB microSD card (included with your purchase price.) Doesn’t beat the iPhone but it’s much more accessible.
The 480 X 360 touch screen does seem a bit small at just 3.2 inches but we’ll have to wait until we get hands-on to know how well it works. If you don’t like that, you can always opt to use the optical track pad below.
The phone is slated to hit AT&T outlets with a retail price tag of $199 placing it squarely in the must-buy price range—especially with all the fancy features!
