Nintendo Wii Classic Controller Goes Golden

In preparation for the launch of the GoldenEye 007 reboot that’s about to hit your Wii consoles, Nintendo has created a golden version of its classic Wii controller.  No, the controller is not actually golden (it’s just a paint color).  However, if you’re planning on playing one of the most revered games in history, you ought to have the right equipment to do so.

You’re not going to be able to pick this puppy up in your local Gamestop.  They’re only available in the “Classic Edition” bundle pack (running around $69.99 when the game launches.)  And even then they’re a very limited run.  So if you want to get one of these for your lowly Wii, I suggest you preorder somewhere like yesterday.

But if you’re not a purist, there’s really nothing revolutionary about this controller.  It’s a standard classic controller with a different color slapped on.  So if you don’t take your martinis shaken, not stirred, and don’t have a little black book that’s filled with the names of every super lady-spy, then you can probably get by without it.  However, I would recommend at least getting a classic controller for this game because playing with the standard Wii Mote is going to be pretty ugly.
