Optoma adds 3D and brightness to its short throw projectors

When you want to buy a projector, Optoma is a serious option that you need to take in consideration since this company is totally dedicated to the segment, which is a big difference with competitors such as Samsung or Sony that also sell projectors.
Well, now Optoma has launched two new innovative products targeted to the educational market: The EX665UT and the EW675UT.
They are two models of ultra-short-throw projectors that combine features from other powerful models and reduced dimensions; for that reason, they are perfect to work in small spaces. Also, they allow users to display images in panoramic format, even from a distance of just 39cm in the case of the EW675UT, or 46cm for the EX665UT model.
These projectors allow to transform almost any surface into an interactive whiteboard since they comes with built-in technologies which were developed in order to get an optimal performance in a classroom.
Optoma has also designed two interactive versions of these models (the EX665UTis and the EW675UTis) which include an optical pen for educational uses.
Both projectors come with the Quizdom Wizteach software for educational applications. This software has different tools that allow users to work with several programs and subjects; besides, it’s also possible to browse the web. The software is available in 36 different languages.
These new interactive Optoma models also allow users to project images in 3D, thanks to the incorporated 3D Ready function which uses the DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology -at an appropriate speed- in order to project a video signal at 120Hz. This way, the images are shown in full screen and full color with a stereoscopic effect. Regarding this specific functionality, since the emitter obviously works with components that allow the 3D implementation, the viewers will need specific glasses to see the images properly. The glasses are not included with the projectors, but you can buy them as an additional accessory if you really need the 3D projection.
Due to all the capabilities, these projectors are the perfect choice to work with interactive whiteboards (IWB)… or in those professional fields where the sharpness of graphics and visual presentations become essential things.
The EW675UT and EW675UTis feature a brightness of 3200 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 3000:1; on the other hand, the EX665UT and EX665UTis projectors have the same contrast ratio but with a brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens.
This way, they can project images with a great sharpness, visibility, and lively colors without annoying shadows; and that is not dependent on the luminosity of the room.
As for resolutions, the projectors come with native XGA (Extended Graphics Array) resolution of 1024 x 768 (EX665UT) and WXGA (Wide XGA) resolution of 1280 x 800 (EW675UT) which are good enough. As said before, they can project images in panoramic format (16:10 aspect ratio) and also are compatible with 16:9 and 4:3 formats with a projection distance ranging from 0.5m t0 2.5m (approximately from 1.6 feet to 8.2 feet).
In addition, these Optoma projectors have a RS232 adapter, compatible with AMX central controllers to electronically control systems in professional environments. This allow users to handle several devices at a distance by using a single panel; through this feature, you will be able to control the projector, a TV, a DVD, a screen, and other electronic devices in a room. Furthermore, the projectors feature a wide range of connectivity options: 2 VGA D-Sub 15-pin connectors, scart connector, component video, S-Video, 4-pin Mini Din connector, RCA, 3.5-mm mini-jack, USB, and microphone input jack.
Regarding the sound, Optoma has also provided a good enough option: A built-in 10W speaker. With this, your voice will be perceived clearly -and with a good volume- while you are explaining the projected images.
These projectors are characterized by a low level of noise and very efficient energy-saving features. In fact, they include useful functions such as auto power off, which is automatically activated when no signal is detected during a specific frame of time; so, you don’t need to worry if you forgot to turn off the projector manually. Another useful function is the Quick Start to show images immediately after turning on the projector. Additionally, the projectors will reduce the energy consumption by up to 0.5W when they are in standby mode.
With all the available functions you can save money and time. Actually, the useful life of components and materials can be increased a long time and the lamps can last up to 4,000 hours of use in standard mode.
