I absolutely love Sanyo’s Eneloop batteries. I’ve not found a rechargeable battery yet that can stand up to the performance-wise. Now Sanyo’s released a mobile charging solution in the United States that bears the epic Eneloop name—the Mobile Booster. But does it live up to the legacy or fall short?
The Eneloop Mobile Booster can easily juice up your USB-powered devices on the go, providing up to 1,000mA to a single device. But what’s even cooler, the boost has 2 USB ports which means you can squeeze up to 500mA of sweet mobile electricity out of the Mobile Booster for up to two devices.

Essentially the Eneloop Mobile Booster is a 5,000mAH Lithium-ion battery (rechargeable, of course) in a compact white plastic shell. The battery pack recharges to full capacity via an included AC adapter in just 7 hours—no waiting overnight for this puppy. It can also be charged by USB but takes roughly twice as long to top off.
Other battery packs on the market sell for over $100 but Sanyo decided to make their device a little more affordable, retailing it for just $79. In my book, that makes this a win-win situation. You get great portable power from one of the leaders in the rechargeable market for a decent price.
