This 17.3 inch weighs 7.3 pound and won’t fit into your laptop case but it sure to do what it was built to do—compute!  The 2.26GHz Core i3-350M processor combined with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 provide blazing fast speeds and the playback capabilities are only limited by the monitor.  Howe3ver, is the $1,000 price tag a deal breaker?

In addition to the decent processor specs, this massive laptop sports 4GB RAM and a 500GB Hard Drive but it’s was built to be a multimedia machines.  The Blu-ray drive and multitude of ports (3 USB, eSATA/USB combo port, VGA output, HDMI out, and Ethernet socket) will keep you happily gled to the overly large monitor for hours watching your favorite movies or slamming the keys with those games.  Unfortunately, you’re going to have to sit next to a power outlet because the 2.5 hours of battery life is quite disappointing—although not entirely unexpected.

If your prefer your media mobile (though this desktop replacement really isn’t) you’ll l find a ExpressCard/34 slot on the side and a MagicGate SD card readers in front.

At just under $1,00 this machine isn’t technically worth the money (there are other systems out there with nearly identical specs for less) but with VAIO you’re paying for the name anyway.
