For years, the E3 conference has been widely regarded as the best place to get a handle on what’s coming up for games in the short future, as well as gaming hardware, and technical wizardry. And this year’s event promises some serious surprises for gamers and technophiles alike. We’re taking a look at some of the coolest gear to be announced at E3 in this round up starting with a couple of gadgets from Sony. Read more >>
Marvel Versus Fighting Pad Just In Time For Marvel / Capcom 3
10 Feb 2011 - By Omar Mariño
This Marvel Versus Fighting Pad looks more like a Super Nintendo controller than it does a modern gaming peripheral but that’s sort of the point. While the gaming controller has evolved to fit first person shooter style games over the years, folks who prefer fighting games have been left behind. This gamepad brings it all back into perspective and features redesigned button placement, micro switches on the (single) thumbstick, and some radically over-the-top Marvel graphics.
The Xbox 360 Gets a New Tron Controller . . . Along with Everything Else
18 Dec 2010 - By Omar Mariño
It seems like Tron hysteria has overtaken the world. Everywhere you look there’s a new Tron related peripheral coming out. I’ve seen mice (the computer kind), keyboards, watches, and somewhere floating around the Intertnets there’s even a chair. However, the Microsoft gaming console has seemingly slipped past all of this craziness without getting tainted . . . until now. Read more >>

13 Dec 2010 - By Omar Mariño
No matter how accurate and reliable the old mouse and keyboard combination is for gaming, there will always be software that will perform better with a gamepad. But this isn’t 1999 and you don’t want your “work space” all cluttered with non-essential gaming peripherals. That’s where the new Chameleon X-1 mouse from Shogun Brothers can help you out. You see, it’s a mouse with a hidden gamepad built right in! Read more >>
Thrustmaster T500RS: Playstation Steering Wheel Controller for Grand Turismo
6 Dec 2010 - By Omar Mariño
Gaming peripherals have been hit or miss for decades. Some are fun; some are frustrating; and some should never have been made. Unfortunately, driving wheels tend to fall exclusively into the last category with reviews ranging from awkward to downright dangerous. Thrustmaster is looking to change all that with their new T500RS driving wheel. It’s officially licensed for Grand Turismo and promises a few improvements over whatever gaming wheels you might have hiding in your closet.
Thrustmaster is promising unrivaled sensitivity and accuracy (which I’ll have to see to believe) with a system that relies on magnetic sensor technology called HEART technology (HallEffect AccuRate Technology). There is no word yet or feedback about any special functions other than standard driving controls. Read more >>
Ctrl+S Controller Offers Ergonomics and Promises of Laughter
23 Sep 2010 - By Omar Mariño
Console gaming controllers haven’t evolved all that much since the original Xbox hit the market years ago. They follow a pretty standard design (two triggers, two bumpers, 4-8 face buttons) and most don’t really push any boundaries. Those that do either are huge successes like the Dual Shock controller for the PSII, or flop big time like pretty much every peripheral made for the Wii. UNIQ is toying with a concept it calls the Ctrl+S which could easily fall on either side of that success/failure fence but promises to make a big splash either way. Read more >>
Nintendo Wii Classic Controller Goes Golden
11 Aug 2010 - By Omar Mariño
In preparation for the launch of the GoldenEye 007 reboot that’s about to hit your Wii consoles, Nintendo has created a golden version of its classic Wii controller. No, the controller is not actually golden (it’s just a paint color). However, if you’re planning on playing one of the most revered games in history, you ought to have the right equipment to do so. CTA’s New PS3 Assault Rifle: Awkward and Ungainly
24 Jul 2010 - By Omar Mariño
CTA should go down in the history books as the number one producer of the worst video gaming peripherals ever—just look the garbage they’ve saturated the Wii controller market with if you don’t believe me. This time, the company has set their sites on Sony’s console and their new PS3 Assault Rifle controller looks to be the worst yet. Read more >>
