The eMachines Mini-e ER1402 is Small but Worth $299

This machine is tiny. It’s just 7.1 inches across and weighs less than ten pounds. That’s incredible when considering how full-featured it is for a bargain PC.
Built with design in mind, the specs on this PC aren’t the greatest but they are far from the worst I’ve seen—in fact they stack up well when compared to bargain netbooks (except for the lack of a built-in screen.) It sports an AMD Athlon II Neo and an NVIDIA GeForce 9200 graphics processor so it’s no slouch. Still, the 2GB of built-in RAM won’t let you handle even a moderately demanding FPS these days.
It does have 160GB of space for movies and other media, which is primarily what this machine will be used for (other than checking email and Twitter, of course) an there are plenty of output/input ports for such a small box. (Four USB 2.0 ports, a built-in card reader, and even an HDMI port!) It’s also nice to see the 802.11b/g/n WiFi come standard, making this tiny PC ultra portable—if you have a light monitor to carry with it.
While the specs place this far below even a mediocre gaming machine, it will suffice for most media and productivity needs. In fact, that’s what eMachines is gunning for: The “casual” PC user. The $300 price tag is just the icing on the cake.
